Individualized Tutoring
Tutoring is often the best solution to help our children in a specific area. Individualized tutoring is used to remediate a skill a child has not mastered and also as an enrichment tool so a child does not fall behind. As adults, we sometimes forget what a competitive place the classroom can be. Giving a child the advantage of extra tutoring is a great remedy for a child’s performance fears and truly does enable them to advance more quickly without dreading school. Positive learning experiences that occur early and consistently will yield benefits throughout a child’s school career.
Tutoring your child is a team effort- This team involves your child, his or her teacher, tutor and parents. At PREPARED CHILDREN we will contact and work directly with your child's teacher to formulate educational strategies to address your child's particular need. When learning how to read and write repetition is the key. After a tutoring session your child will receive supplemental work that will be done during the week between sessions. You also will receive clear instructions, a calendar of daily assignments, and all materials that your child will work on at home. This practice and repetition will be key to your child's success.
The materials we use are similar to the curriculum used in the school districts in and around Charlotte. We teach the children with materials that many of them are familiar with in an effort to minimize confusion and expedite the learning process. Our goal is to enable each student to gain a mastery of the information. We will evaluate a child's learning style and form an individualized program for their needs. We will do our best to match your child with a tutor who is currently teaching your child's grade level or has taught it in the past.
To get started, contact us today for an appointment where we can introduce ourselves, meet you and your child and together determine how we can best help your child move forward. We will discuss what type of test or assessment might be appropriate, if any, and enroll in your child in one of our programs. We feel strongly that the earlier your child gets help with the literacy, handwriting, or mathmatical skills they require, the more confidence they will have and the less chance they will develop poor work habits and weak academic skills.
